Gallery on Main's Artists' Reception for "All That's Old is New Again"

The Gallery on Main will host an Artists Reception on Tuesday, February 9, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. introducing its new exhibit, All Thats Old is New Again.  Clay is an old medium, yet new uses are found for it is the theme. This exhibit runs through April 6 and can be viewed daily, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Eight artists will have their unique clay works on display. Foremost Kentucky Potter, Joe Molinaro is joined by two colleagues -- Elmer Craig, formerly of Miami, Florida and Steven Davis-Rosenbaum, Art Professor at Midway College.  Joe received two Fulbright scholarships and became an Eastern Kentucky University Foundation Professor in 2009.  Joe has had one book published about pottery in Kentucky and is finishing a second book.

Joes former students Cindi Cuzik, Buddy Dobbins and Lori Phillips along with Gallery on Main Board Members, Crimson Duvall and Model Lab art teacher, Denise Discepoli, will also exhibit in this ceramics exhibit.  Denise will have additional art pieces in 2 and 3 dimensions.

Jennifer Brandenburg, a Richmond/Lexington Interior Designer, will create the appetizer tablescape.  Music will be provided by small groups from the Madison County Singers, directed by John Stegner.   

Marie Mitchell, Rebecca Mitchell Turney and Mason Smith will be the featured authors.  Marie and Rebecca will be signing their new book, Road to Pleasant Hill, published in December 2009, as the first in a three-part series for young adults. The book is illustrated by Kentuckian Pam Dixon.  Marie and Mason will also have a collection of their children and young adults work including The Lost Dispatch and 48 Hours. 

The Gallery on Main is located at 128 W. Main Street, Richmond, inside the Community Trust Bank.  The Gallery is open daily from 9:00 a.m.  4:00 p.m. for additional browsing and shopping.  The reception is free and open to the public. Light refreshments provided.
